Soil and percolation testing for Phelan septic projects
Phelan is a dispersed rural community on the high-desert apron north of the San Gabriel Mountains.
Large parcels commonly depend on private wells and OWTS, making well separation, fan drainage, caliche, and representative test placement especially important.
Septic soil testing is useful only when the field locations represent the proposed disposal area. Surface appearance, a regional soil map, or a result from a nearby parcel cannot establish the absorption rate or soil conditions for this site.
