Soil and percolation testing for Red Mountain septic projects
Red Mountain is a remote historic mining community near the northwestern county line and the Rand mining district.
Mine workings, tailings, disturbed ground, shallow rock, private wells, and uncertain access call for mining-record, environmental, and site-condition review before OWTS testing.
Septic soil testing is useful only when the field locations represent the proposed disposal area. Surface appearance, a regional soil map, or a result from a nearby parcel cannot establish the absorption rate or soil conditions for this site.
