Local project context
Soil and percolation testing for Rice septic projects
Rice is a very small, remote desert locality at a former rail and highway junction west of the Colorado River corridor.
Sparse development, dry-lake and fan deposits, abandoned infrastructure, water-source feasibility, and long mobilization distances dominate project planning.
Septic soil testing is useful only when the field locations represent the proposed disposal area. Surface appearance, a regional soil map, or a result from a nearby parcel cannot establish the absorption rate or soil conditions for this site.
