Wenner four-pin soil resistivity testing across the United States

Calicore performs in-situ soil electrical resistivity surveys for grounding studies, substations, solar and battery facilities, wind farms, transmission, utilities, data centers, pipelines, and corrosion evaluations.

01

Measure the earth response

The Wenner array measures apparent soil electrical resistivity for a documented location, equal electrode spacing, orientation, and field condition.

02

Vary spacing deliberately

A spacing sequence samples progressively larger earth volumes. The required range comes from the project model, site dimensions, layering, and available clear line length.

03

Mobilize by project scope

Nationwide pricing accounts for station count, maximum spacing, access, utility clearance, terrain, security, work windows, travel, and deliverables.

Why regional guides?

Regional ground conditions guide the survey plan—not the answer.

U.S. project markets differ in precipitation, seasonal drying, frost, groundwater, surficial geology, terrain, fill history, infrastructure density, and the amount of straight, undisturbed ground available for an array. Those differences affect station coverage, access, orientation, maximum spacing, interference, and timing.

They do not justify a published “typical soil resistivity” for an entire city. Each result must remain tied to the actual location, line, spacing, measured resistance, calculation, units, surface condition, and limitations.

Questions before mobilization

Does Calicore travel nationwide for Wenner testing?+

Yes. Field programs are accepted throughout the United States when the technical scope, station count, spacing, access, schedule, and mobilization are practical.

What do you need to price a survey?+

Send the location and site plan, intended design or investigation use, requested stations and spacings, line-length constraints, utility-clearance responsibility, construction stage, site access, safety requirements, schedule, and required report.

Can one reading represent an entire solar farm or substation?+

Not automatically. Station coverage should reflect site size, grading, mapped or observed ground changes, electrical layout, fill zones, route segments, and the receiving engineer's model.

Is soil resistivity the same as corrosion rate?+

No. Soil electrical resistivity is one environmental property. Corrosion behavior also depends on material, moisture, chemistry, aeration, drainage, coatings, electrical continuity, and other exposure conditions.

Start with the receiving engineer

Plan the stations, spacings, and site access before travel.

Send the request, drawings, site location, station matrix, access and utility-clearance details, schedule, and required output. If the scope is still open, Calicore can help make it field-ready.
